Suzuki Reveals First All-Electric Model, the eVitara

Suzuki has unveiled its first mass-production battery electric vehicle (BEV), the eVitara in Milan Italy. Production will begin in spring 2025 at Suzuki Motor Gujarat, India, with global sales – including Europe, India and Japan – expected by summer 2025. The eVitara, based on the concept model eVX, which was showcased at the Auto Expo held in India in January 2023, and at the Japan Mobility Show in October of the same year, marks Suzuki’s first global strategic BEV.

Embodying the concept of an “Emotional Versatile Cruiser”, the eVitara features a futuristic and robust design, a BEV powertrain that delivers a nimble and sharp driving experience, an ALLGRIP-e 4-wheel drive system for off-road and high-performance capabilities, and a newly developed HEARTECT-e platform tailored for BEVs.

Key Features

Design

The design theme merges the advanced appeal of a BEV with the ruggedness of an SUV. Its exterior showcases bold large-diameter tires and a long wheelbase, while the interior features an integrated display, advanced equipment, and durable panels, all emphasizing the adventurous, high-tech aesthetic.

BEV Powertrain

An efficient eAxle with integrated motor and inverter, paired with reliable lithium iron-phosphate batteries, delivers nimble acceleration from standstill and sharp performance during overtaking. Two battery options provide flexibility: a 49kWh battery with 145bhp for the entry model, and a 61kWh battery for extended range, offering either 175bhp or 240bhp when paired with ALLGRIP-e.

ALLGRIP-e

The ALLGRIP-e electric four-wheel drive system, utilising Suzuki’s 4WD expertise, uses independent front and rear eAxles for powerful performance and precise, responsive control. It includes a Trail mode with an LSD function for smooth recovery on rough terrain by braking spinning tires and redistributing torque.

HEARTECT-e

The HEARTECT-e platform, designed for BEVs, offers a lightweight structure, high-voltage protection, and a spacious interior enabled by short overhangs. Its underfloor design maximizes battery capacity by removing traditional underfloor members.

Introduction of the eVitara represents a significant milestone in achieving carbon neutrality. Following the launch of the eVitara, we will continue to expand our BEV line-up and propose mobility solutions tailored to the needs of specific countries and regions.”

Dave told me to keep mileage to minimum and gave me a reasonably early service slot, during which the fault was diagnosed and fixed at a very reasonable cost. Car was also valeted and cleaned! Took my car for service and MOT 29/7/24, they couldn't do enough for me. I told them I had a few marks on the drivers side, when I collected it they had removed the marks and you couldn't even see they were there. I would not buy a car anywhere else. they keep you informed of what is going on. I also like the fact that they do health checks on the car. Great company to buy a car from.

I recently purchased a new Suzuki from Tracks and also popped it in for its complementary 2 months old "Health check style" service.So far my experience with all members of staff and the service received have been excellent and I have only heard good things about this particular Suzuki franchise. Expectations were met in regards to the agreed duration of the service so I was able to collect the car 60mins after dropping it off. So I did a bit of shopping in the locale and then spent 20mins in the Bake My Day café next to the dealership enjoying a great cup of coffee and freshly baked cinnamon role.Also I received a nice checklist email whilst I was in the café with a video attached which also enables me to have a kind of electronic copy of the servicing carried out if I should ever want to sell the car on in the future.Hopefully when the car starts to show some wear & tear such things as brake pad/disc thickness (if they need replacing) will be captured on the video with digital callipers so you can see that the technician is demonstrating the facts and not an opinion.I there was only one small niggly bit of critical feedback is that is if they are going to offer a free wash and vacuum on vehicles in for a service then please use a microfibre type towel to remove the excess water droplets afterwards (weather permitting of course). Having just washed and waxed my car a few days prior to taking it in I was disappointed to see water droplet rings develop as the car dried out subsequently spoiling all my prior hard work.Maybe it should be an opt out question asked when dropping the vehicle off i.e. "would you like your car washed and vacuumed?" (if they have the time).

Last Tuesday (23rd July) I took my Swift in for fitment of an accessory which the dealership were awaiting delivery of when I collected the car towards the end of June. At the same time they carried out the 2 month health check, which saved me a 75 mile round trip from Somerset. Excellent service as ever and the car had been washed and vacuumed. This is my second Swift and fifth Suzuki, and all have been purchased from Tracks - the previous ones from their Taunton dealership. I would highly recommend them if you are looking to purchase a car and Will in the sales department was very helpful and knowledgeable.

He has communicated with me directly throughout my purchase and since. It is a 100 mile round trip for me to have my Vitara serviced by Tracks and, as always, on 4th June it was well worth it. Always treat my like a really valued customer. They really went the extra mile this time - I couldn’t believe it when I returned to my car not only to find it immaculately washed and cleaned inside, but they had also somehow managed to remove a horrible red paint scrape on the side of the car which someone had left whilst my car was parked months ago. I hadn’t managed to get the mark off in months of trying. I hadn’t asked them to do this - well done Tracks. It is so rare to be delighted like this.

Sadly it’s sometimes difficult to find loyal, honest, and caring people to look after your car - however, I am so pleased that I chose Tracks Suzuki.

Whilst looking for my next car, I found it difficult narrowing down my options. With that being said, I was recommended Tracks by a family member, who was proud to have had nearly 3 Swift’s in the last 15 years! I was so glad I listened to their recommendation as Tracks couldn’t do enough to meet my requirements and I am very confident that I’d buy my next car from them too!

TracksCare is a great service/care plan for my Swift - it’s affordable, the service is great, it covers a lifetime warranty on your vehicle, and you can’t get much better than that. Free labour, discounted parts, and a complimentary coffee and valet too! (Made me feel better when I had to drop my car off first thing on an early morning!) 😉

The team are great and are always happy to help - they’re very accommodating and deal with you in a very professional and friendly approach. I would love to name a few people in particular but I wouldn’t want to be unfair to the rest of the team and therefore I think my appreciation must go towards the whole of Tracks itself, as I’m yet to come across a single person who doesn’t carry that great work ethic. I purchased my Swift from Taunton and now go to the Exeter dealership due to it being more local and both places are equally as great to work with.
