Suzuki Reveals First All-Electric Model, the e Vitara

Suzuki has unveiled its first mass-production battery electric vehicle (BEV), the e Vitara in Milan Italy. Production will begin in spring 2025 at Suzuki Motor Gujarat, India, with global sales – including Europe, India and Japan – expected by summer 2025. The eVitara, based on the concept model eVX, which was showcased at the Auto Expo held in India in January 2023, and at the Japan Mobility Show in October of the same year, marks Suzuki’s first global strategic BEV.
Embodying the concept of an “Emotional Versatile Cruiser”, the e Vitara features a futuristic and robust design, a BEV powertrain that delivers a nimble and sharp driving experience, an ALLGRIP-e 4-wheel drive system for off-road and high-performance capabilities, and a newly developed HEARTECT-e platform tailored for BEVs.
Key Features
Design
The design theme merges the advanced appeal of a BEV with the ruggedness of an SUV. Its exterior showcases bold large-diameter tires and a long wheelbase, while the interior features an integrated display, advanced equipment, and durable panels, all emphasizing the adventurous, high-tech aesthetic.
BEV Powertrain
An efficient eAxle with integrated motor and inverter, paired with reliable lithium iron-phosphate batteries, delivers nimble acceleration from standstill and sharp performance during overtaking. Two battery options provide flexibility: a 49kWh battery with 145bhp for the entry model, and a 61kWh battery for extended range, offering either 175bhp or 240bhp when paired with ALLGRIP-e.
ALLGRIP-e
The ALLGRIP-e electric four-wheel drive system, utilising Suzuki’s 4WD expertise, uses independent front and rear eAxles for powerful performance and precise, responsive control. It includes a Trail mode with an LSD function for smooth recovery on rough terrain by braking spinning tires and redistributing torque.
HEARTECT-e
The HEARTECT-e platform, designed for BEVs, offers a lightweight structure, high-voltage protection, and a spacious interior enabled by short overhangs. Its underfloor design maximizes battery capacity by removing traditional underfloor members.

2025 Vitara Hybrid: Facelift, Upgraded Tech and Efficiency Drive Appeal

The Vitara hybrid remains a popular model in the range and Suzuki is very pleased to announce some significant revisions for 2025 with redefined SUV styling, an even higher level of standard equipment and technology as well as further improved hybrid efficiency.
Refined SUV Styling
One of the most noticeable updates for the 2025 Vitara is its refreshed exterior design. The front of the car gets a completely reworked grille and bumper, giving it a more modern, dynamic look. The rear also benefits from a new upper spoiler and rear window side spoilers, adding a touch of sportiness. In addition, the Vitara now rides on newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels, further elevating its presence on the road. Two new metallic colour options are available: Sphere Blue Pearl dual-tone and Titan Dark Grey single-tone, offering customers more ways to personalise their vehicles.

For the manual transmission models with 2-wheel drive (2WD), the 1.4-litre mild-hybrid engine offers a 9% improvement in fuel consumption, now achieving an impressive 53.2 mpg (WLTP combined). Full hybrid models with 2WD and AGS (Automated Gear Shift) transmission see a 6% improvement, reaching 56.4 mpg. The CO2 emissions have also been reduced, with the 1.5-litre full hybrid Motion model now emitting just 113g/km, down from 119g/km in the previous model.
Powertrain Options: Mild Hybrid & Full Hybrid
As before, the 2025 Vitara continues to offer hybrid power as standard, with a choice of two powertrains:
1.4-litre Boosterjet turbocharged petrol engine with 48V mild hybrid for those who prefer a manual transmission, or:
1.5-litre full hybrid version with AGS transmission, offering the convenience of automatic transmission.
Both versions can be paired with either 2WD or 4WD, offering flexibility to meet different driving needs and makes the Vitara one of the few compact SUVs to offer both manual and automatic hybrid drivetrain options, with the choice of four-wheel drive as well.

Suzuki launches full hybrid version of popular Vitara

The Suzuki Vitara is now available with full hybrid technology that helps lower CO2 emissions and improves fuel consumption even further than the current mild hybrid with automatic transmission.
Full hybrid technology
The system consists of a 140V lithium-ion battery and inverter, Motor Generator Unit (MGU), a 12V lithium-ion battery and a conventional 12V lead-acid battery to power components requiring lower voltage such as lights, instruments, heating and air-conditioning.
Selectable hybrid modes
The new hybrid system has two switchable modes – Eco and Standard – which enables the driver to change between the two modes depending on conditions and increases the frequency of EV driving.
MGU
The MGU acts as a generator and starter motor and assists the petrol engine during vehicle take off. The high-performance lithium-ion battery stores electrical energy recovered from deceleration and braking and incorporates an idle stop function operated via the integrated starter generator. Based on engine speed and throttle position, the engine ECU judges when the driver will accelerate then uses the electric motor to add additional torque.
The hybrid system collects kinetic energy and generates electricity by stopping the engine and disengaging the clutch during deceleration, which increases the EV driving range. As a full hybrid, the Vitara can run solely on its electric motor for short distances.
Transmission
The Vitara full hybrid comes equipped with Auto Gear Shift (AGS) that automatically shifts the manual transmission and gear ratios to help provide a good combination of performance and fuel economy. AGS enables the driver to enjoy both the direct driving experience of a manual gearbox and the shifting ease of an automatic transmission. The transmission also has a manual mode with steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles.
One notable feature of the latest hybrid system with AGS is the position of the MGU on the output side of the transmission assembly. As a result, power from the MGU is directly transmitted to the driveshafts to fill the torque gap during shifting and provides a smoother transition from the transmission.
CO2 emissions
Thanks to full hybrid technology, high tensile steel and other weight-saving measures in the body, Vitara’s CO2 emissions are low (121g/km) with an impressive combined fuel economy of 53mpg.
ALLGRIP 4-wheel drive
Suzuki’s ALLGRIP 4-wheel drive system is available as an option on the SZ5 model and incorporates four selectable drive modes – Auto, Sport, Snow and Lock – for safe, enjoyable driving on diverse surfaces.
Specification highlights
Standard equipment is comprehensive with the entry-level SZ-T model featuring: auto air conditioning, front and rear electric windows, keyless entry and start, 17″ silver alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, rear parking camera and satellite navigation. Moving up to the top-spec SZ5 adds 17″ polished alloy wheels, suede seat upholstery, panoramic sunroof, front and rear parking sensors and the availability of ALLGRIP 4WD as an option.
A high level of safety specification comes as standard including, LED multi-reflector headlamps with low and high beam, dual sensor brake support (automated emergency braking), blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control and seven airbags.

I don’t normally take the time to complete a review but I believe that Tracks Suzuki, Exeter is worth it. I Purchased a Polestar 2 from Tracks in... August 2025 whilst on holiday, which hopefully puts in to perspective how confident I was in the company. It started with speaking to Will on the phone and almost immediately I felt confident he was a cracking salesman. I had a mrs and 2 young kids in tow and at no point did I feel the process was being dragged out. Within 20mins I had a test drive, discussed finance (which was a pleasure and completely transparent with the use of a broker sorted by Will) I have purchased loads of cars and never had the freedom to pick my own finance and Apr which ended up being the lowest I had been looking at. The smooth sailing continued until there was an issue with the finance (my fault as I hadn’t brought my licence on holiday for proof of ID) BUT Tracks sorted this and managed to contact the broker and another finance company was chosen, again the problem was all on me yet they sorted it. The car was purchased and ready to go the next day, due to my issues with the ID and finance the finance company was taking an age to get it done BUT yet again Tracks came through sales, sales manager and the director were all involved just so I could get the car that day, which with there help it was pushed through. I honestly can’t really do the review justice of how good the company was and is. At no point did I feel I was a problem (even though I was), at no point did I feel pressured into buying anything extra, the car was in a really good condition, it was clean and tidy and had a wash prior to me getting it and a full charge. The communication didn’t stop after the sale either. The after sales again was amazing checking how the car was and how I was with the car. The fact that the car wasn’t a Suzuki either was impressive, the sales team were knowledgable about all the cars on the lot no matter what make or model they were. I would recommend this company 100%. Has that family run business feeling about it and they would honestly do anything for you.read more

Many thanks.We are... normally so impressed with the customer service at Tracks Suzuki however a couple of weeks ago I feel it was lacking somewhat. I had my car booked in for a service and MOT which was carried out in good time considering it needed a few repairs, one of which was a slow puncture on a tyre from a nail. I was assured that a repair had been successfully carried out and I left to make the hour long journey home. After about 10 minutes on the motorway, the tyre pressure warning light came on indicating that the tyre pressure had dropped to 28. I called Tracks as soon as I got home and they graciously offered to refund the cost of the repair, and that I take it to a local tyre repair place to get it fixed as we live so far away.The next day, when I turned the engine on the tyre pressure warning light was now saying the faulty tyre was at 18, which is near enough a flat tyre. I drove straight to a local tyre repair place whereby they then proceeded to tell me that the repair had been so badly carried out they were unable to re-repair the tyre and that I would need a brand new tyre. They told me I could take a video of them pouring the fluid onto the repair which I did, and you can see how badly cracked it was and bubbling. They also mentioned how they were happy to speak to Tracks Suzuki directly about the matter, which I felt was very honest.I then called Tracks Suzuki and spoke to David Upton, to explain what had happened and if they were willing to offer any compensation towards the cost of the new tyre, to which I was laughed at and told that they would never have done a bad repair, and that he had to go as he had "people shouting at him". Considering how quickly the tyre pressure warning light came on during my drive home, it is quite clear that this was indeed a bad repair, and a dangerous one at that.Not only do I feel this is completely unacceptable, as I was sent home to drive a long way on a faulty tyre (at 8 months pregnant I might add), but the way in which it was handled was dismissive and unprofessional. It has left a sour taste in our mouths and although we will lose out on our lifetime guarantee, unless this is rectified satisfactorily, we will not be using Tracks Suzuki for any further business again.read more

Well, I went to post a new review and found that I hadn’t hit the “post” button on this one from June last year, so it will do instead!……It is a 100... mile round trip for me to have my Vitara serviced by Tracks and, as always, on 4th June it was well worth it. Always treat my like a really valued customer. They really went the extra mile this time - I couldn’t believe it when I returned to my car not only to find it immaculately washed and cleaned inside, but they had also somehow managed to remove a horrible red paint scrape on the side of the car which someone had left whilst my car was parked months ago. Had new Swift sports twice now and was a bit sad it was being stopped so we bought a new Swift Ultra 1.2 and what a difference it’s amazing. It’s... still pleasantly nippy and the extras are just never ending and they are extremely nice to drive makes me want to keep going out for a drive. One extra which I found yesterday was the adaptive cruise control I did not have a clue about. On the motorway I always set the speed so I did with the ACC and the car drives itself take your feet off the accelerator and away it goes it keeps a set distance from the car in front and if he slows down so do you and it’s a set distance from the car behind you and stays within the speed limit. If the car in front keeps slowing down you indicate to change lanes and away you go accelerating on its own to the speed limit if you change lanes without indicating the car gently turns back into your lane. The extras on this car more than make up for not having a sport it makes the drive so much more enjoyable and the staff at Tracks Exeter are brilliant with sales service and anything else and the new Ultra has everything and more. The car also has a camera in the radio/satnav screen that checks your fave to see if your getting drowsy at the wheel I assume it then sounds an alarm.read more

I don’t normally take the time to complete a review but I believe that Tracks Suzuki, Exeter is worth it. I Purchased a Polestar 2 from Tracks in... August 2025 whilst on holiday, which hopefully puts in to perspective how confident I was in the company. It started with speaking to Will on the phone and almost immediately I felt confident he was a cracking salesman. I had a mrs and 2 young kids in tow and at no point did I feel the process was being dragged out. Within 20mins I had a test drive, discussed finance (which was a pleasure and completely transparent with the use of a broker sorted by Will) I have purchased loads of cars and never had the freedom to pick my own finance and Apr which ended up being the lowest I had been looking at. The smooth sailing continued until there was an issue with the finance (my fault as I hadn’t brought my licence on holiday for proof of ID) BUT Tracks sorted this and managed to contact the broker and another finance company was chosen, again the problem was all on me yet they sorted it. The car was purchased and ready to go the next day, due to my issues with the ID and finance the finance company was taking an age to get it done BUT yet again Tracks came through sales, sales manager and the director were all involved just so I could get the car that day, which with there help it was pushed through. I honestly can’t really do the review justice of how good the company was and is. At no point did I feel I was a problem (even though I was), at no point did I feel pressured into buying anything extra, the car was in a really good condition, it was clean and tidy and had a wash prior to me getting it and a full charge. The communication didn’t stop after the sale either. The after sales again was amazing checking how the car was and how I was with the car. The fact that the car wasn’t a Suzuki either was impressive, the sales team were knowledgable about all the cars on the lot no matter what make or model they were. I would recommend this company 100%. Has that family run business feeling about it and they would honestly do anything for you.read more

Many thanks.We are... normally so impressed with the customer service at Tracks Suzuki however a couple of weeks ago I feel it was lacking somewhat. I had my car booked in for a service and MOT which was carried out in good time considering it needed a few repairs, one of which was a slow puncture on a tyre from a nail. I was assured that a repair had been successfully carried out and I left to make the hour long journey home. After about 10 minutes on the motorway, the tyre pressure warning light came on indicating that the tyre pressure had dropped to 28. I called Tracks as soon as I got home and they graciously offered to refund the cost of the repair, and that I take it to a local tyre repair place to get it fixed as we live so far away.The next day, when I turned the engine on the tyre pressure warning light was now saying the faulty tyre was at 18, which is near enough a flat tyre. I drove straight to a local tyre repair place whereby they then proceeded to tell me that the repair had been so badly carried out they were unable to re-repair the tyre and that I would need a brand new tyre. They told me I could take a video of them pouring the fluid onto the repair which I did, and you can see how badly cracked it was and bubbling. They also mentioned how they were happy to speak to Tracks Suzuki directly about the matter, which I felt was very honest.I then called Tracks Suzuki and spoke to David Upton, to explain what had happened and if they were willing to offer any compensation towards the cost of the new tyre, to which I was laughed at and told that they would never have done a bad repair, and that he had to go as he had "people shouting at him". Considering how quickly the tyre pressure warning light came on during my drive home, it is quite clear that this was indeed a bad repair, and a dangerous one at that.Not only do I feel this is completely unacceptable, as I was sent home to drive a long way on a faulty tyre (at 8 months pregnant I might add), but the way in which it was handled was dismissive and unprofessional. It has left a sour taste in our mouths and although we will lose out on our lifetime guarantee, unless this is rectified satisfactorily, we will not be using Tracks Suzuki for any further business again.read more

Well, I went to post a new review and found that I hadn’t hit the “post” button on this one from June last year, so it will do instead!……It is a 100... mile round trip for me to have my Vitara serviced by Tracks and, as always, on 4th June it was well worth it. Always treat my like a really valued customer. They really went the extra mile this time - I couldn’t believe it when I returned to my car not only to find it immaculately washed and cleaned inside, but they had also somehow managed to remove a horrible red paint scrape on the side of the car which someone had left whilst my car was parked months ago. I hadn’t managed to get the mark off in months of trying. I hadn’t asked them to do this - well done Tracks. It is so rare to be delighted like this.read more

Had new Swift sports twice now and was a bit sad it was being stopped so we bought a new Swift Ultra 1.2 and what a difference it’s amazing. It’s... still pleasantly nippy and the extras are just never ending and they are extremely nice to drive makes me want to keep going out for a drive. One extra which I found yesterday was the adaptive cruise control I did not have a clue about. On the motorway I always set the speed so I did with the ACC and the car drives itself take your feet off the accelerator and away it goes it keeps a set distance from the car in front and if he slows down so do you and it’s a set distance from the car behind you and stays within the speed limit. If the car in front keeps slowing down you indicate to change lanes and away you go accelerating on its own to the speed limit if you change lanes without indicating the car gently turns back into your lane. The extras on this car more than make up for not having a sport it makes the drive so much more enjoyable and the staff at Tracks Exeter are brilliant with sales service and anything else and the new Ultra has everything and more. The car also has a camera in the radio/satnav screen that checks your fave to see if your getting drowsy at the wheel I assume it then sounds an alarm.read more
