Jimny voted Best Off-Roader at Parkers Awards

October 23, 2019

Suzuki GB PLC is pleased to announce another major award for its Jimny model, this time from Parkers.co.uk who awarded it their Best Off-Roader title for 2020. Jimny was shortlisted in a group of three from numerous new vehicles tested by the editorial team over the last year.

Keith Adams, editor of Parkers.co.uk comments: “Proving that small can be mighty, the Suzuki Jimny is exceptional when it comes to the rough stuff. Despite its dinky dimensions and relatively puny 1.5-litre engine, its separate chassis construction, selectable four-wheel drive and low-range gearbox mean it’s a proper weapon when it comes to crawling over rocks or getting out of ankle-deep mud. It’s also truly, utterly charming – with retro appeal in spades and a plucky and totally endearing nature”.

This very positive news for Suzuki makes it the ninth award win for the new model launched in the UK in January of this year. The Awards list to date is as follows:

Urban Car of The Year – World Car Awards
Best 4×4 – UK Car of the Year Awards
Best Fun 4×4 – GQ Magazine
Budget Apocalypse Survival Tool – BBC Top Gear Magazine
Overall Winner – 4×4 Magazine
Game Changer 2019 – Autocar Magazine
Car of the Year – Car Dealer Power Awards
Dark Horse of the Year – Southern Group of Motoring Writers

Price Point win for Celerio at the What Car? Used Car Awards

October 5, 2019

Suzuki GB PLC is pleased to announce a Price Point win for its Celerio model by What Car? Magazine. The Celerio was awarded Best City Car by the judging panel in the up to £5,000 category.

Used Cars Editor of What Car? Mark Pearson comments: “We’ve always loved the Celerio for its cheeky nature and practical interior, but when you add in its excellent reliability record and the extraordinary value it offers at this age and price point no other rival can come close. It can handle motorways with aplomb, and inside there’s space for four and a great view out, thanks to its tall windows. The fact that the car is recently off sale as a new car only adds further to its appeal on the used market”.

Vitara voted Best Small Crossover by CarGurus

October 2, 2019

Suzuki GB PLC is pleased to announce that its Vitara model has been voted as Best Small Crossover by online automotive website CarGurus UK in its Best Used Car Awards. Nominees were selected from car models that are at least two years old and then shortlisted on criteria including availability and search interest on CarGurus UK.

A projected 12-year value retention using CarGurus data was also considered and the expert media judging panel then weighed up the pros and cons of each shortlisted model in the class to determine the winners.

Chris Knapman, CarGurus UK Editor, said: “The Suzuki Vitara took the victory in the best used small crossover class due to its appealing blend of practicality, comfort, equipment, and a wide range of powertrain options that makes it possible for used car buyers to choose between two or four-wheel drive regardless of whether they want a petrol or diesel engine. Our judges also noted that CarGurus data shows the Vitara holds on to its value better than many other small crossovers, too.”

First launched in May 2015, Vitara remains the best-selling model in the Suzuki range with annual sales of around 12,000 units in the UK and as a new car is available with 1.0 and 1.4-litre Boosterjet petrol engines.

Tracks of Exeter Suzuki named AM Best UK Dealership to Work For

November 14, 2018

Tracks of Exeter Suzuki in Exeter was recently named as one of the 2018 AM Best UK Dealerships to Work For. The programme is a joint project of Automotive Management and Best Companies Group.
This survey and awards programme was designed to identify, recognise and reward the best automotive dealerships to work for in the United Kingdom, benefiting the area’s economy, its workforce and businesses.

Tim Rose, Editor of Automotive Management, the UK’s leading motor industry magazine, said: “Congratulations to Tracks of Exeter on its remarkable achievement! It is one of less than a dozen across the UK to achieve the accolade this year.

“The UK’s motor retail industry is high pressured and extremely competitive, but full of opportunities for great earnings and career progression. And it is Tracks of Exeter and the other 2018 AM Best UK Dealerships to Work For who play a leading role, by rewarding their staff well, by providing regular training, by helping staff climb the career ladder and by being a decent, responsible, caring employer.”

Firms from across the United Kingdom entered the two-part survey process to determine the AM Best UK Dealerships to Work For. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated firm’s workplace policies, systems, philosophies, practises, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top firms and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process and also analysed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.

Tracks of Exeter will be recognised in a special publication in December by Automotive Management.

Suzuki voted number 1 in 2018 What Car? Reliability Survey

September 6, 2018

Suzuki is celebrating some very good news from the results of the 2018 What Car? Reliability Survey in which readers report on their ownership experience after the first year and up to four years old. Of the 31 car brands measured, Suzuki is at the top of the league table with a score of 97.7 per cent and even when measured at over four years old Suzuki remained in the top five with a score of 88.4 per cent. The sample size of Suzuki owners for this year’s survey was 193 and What Car? measured 159 different models across the industry.

The good news continued for the popular S-Cross model too as owners reported 100 per cent reliability during their ownership with no faults recorded whatsoever. Editor of What Car? magazine Steve Huntingford comments: “Not a single S-Cross caused its owner any trouble, making this not only one of our favourite budget small SUV’s but also the class’s most reliable car. Many owners told us the thing they like best about their S-Cross is its durability”

The S-Cross is available with either 1.0-litre or 1.4-litre Boosterjet petrol engines and has low rate PCP and HP agreements on offer until the end of September. This is in addition to a £2,500 customer saving for SZ4 models and a £3,000 customer saving for SZ-T and SZ5 also in place until the end of September.

Taking a 1.0-litre SZ4 model as an example on Personal Contract Purchase (PCP), a deposit of just £2,104 is required followed by 48 monthly payments of £199 and a final optional payment of £5,534 to keep the car. The representative APR for the PCP agreement is 5.9 per cent.
